Valentines Day week & local music.
I have had a few weeks off but I am still buzzing from a great night spent at Betty Jayne Brimmer Center for the Performing Arts on February 2nd. Not only did I get to spend some time with some of my favorite Illinois musicians, Henhouse Prowlers and Chicago Farmer to name a few, but we were able to raise over $10,000 for the Prowler’s non-profit organization, Bluegrass Ambassadors. WOW! For more information on the Bluegrass Ambassadors and what they do, please visit their site at bluegrassambassadors.org.
My first couple weeks of February have been slow but I am excited to say that this week I am playing a handful of gigs close to home, a few of those being some of my regular spots. Today, February 13th, I am at Knuckles in Dunlap, IL. I never know what friends of mine will show up to pick with me for these but tonight I am expecting my friend Evan to bring his bass fiddle. Friday night, February 15th, I will be at August Hill Winery in Utica, IL. Expect a solo set this time around. Saturday night, February 16th, I am back in my hometown of Henry, IL and I am bringing along Wes Duffy Trio. Sunday, February 17th, I will be up north at Rivers Edge Bar & Grill in Batavia with my good friend Mark Messer of the River Valley Rangers. I love Bluegrass Sundays!
Please keep checking in here for updates, this is my first post but it won’t be my last!
